MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host Villanova and Iowa State (women's team only) at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown on Saturday, Jan. 27, as part of senior day.

Vic Riggs said. "It's always an honor to celebrate the senior class and I feel we have a great meet for their last dual meet as a Mountaineer. Iowa State and Villanova will provide a great opportunity for the teams as we start to prepare for the Big 12 Championships."
In its most recent outing against Pitt, the men's swimming and diving team (1-2, 1-0 Big 12) was defeated, 165-135. The women's swimming and diving team (0-3, 0-1 Big 12) lost to Pitt, 196-104.
Senior
Sara Haggerty's performance was the meet's highlight, breaking her platform diving record with a final score of 273.15. She originally set the record in 2021, scoring a 269.33.
Senior
Danny Berlitz continues to set the tone for WVU, winning three individual events against Pitt. Berlitz won the 200-yard freestyle (1:37.53), the 200-yard breaststroke (1:59.58) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:48.09).
Berlitz was named the Big 12 Men's Co-Swimmer of the Week for his efforts against the Panthers. This was the second time he was awarded the honor this season.
Sophomore
Mia Cheatwood led the women's swimming team, winning two individual events. Cheatwood won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.92) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.00). She also placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.01).
The meet is slated to begin at 11 a.m. ET. Prior to the meet on Saturday, 15 seniors will be honored as part of senior day.
