
West Virginia Finishes Competition at Big 12 East Showdown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving team finished competition at the Big 12 East Showdown at the CRWC Natatorium in Houston on Saturday.
The men's team placed third out of three teams, and the women's team placed fourth out of five teams.
Senior Olivia Busch began the day for the Mountaineers by placing third in the women's 1650-yard freestyle (16:50.47). Later in the session, senior Gabriela Martin became the second Mountaineer on the podium with a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (50.34).
On the men's side, two individuals stood out as sophomore Joey Stebbins and freshman Felix Vicknair earned spots on the podium. Stebbins placed third in the 200-yard individual medley with a final time of 1:49.71. Vicknair finished third in the 200 butterfly (1:48.61).
West Virginia wrapped up the meet as the Mountaineers placed second in the men's 400-yard freestyle relay (2:58.89).
