He opened the week with a three-hit performance against Pitt, including a home run, to help lead the Mountaineers to a season sweep in the Backyard Brawl. Wetherholt then followed with hits in all three games against Texas Tech over the weekend, highlighted by a game-tying home run on Sunday before WVU went on to win the game and the series.
For the season, the Mars, Pennsylvania native now has a slash line of .466/.829/.530, with 21 doubles, 2 triples, 15 home runs, 56 RBI, and 35 stolen bases as he is putting together the most impressive season in Mountaineer history.
