MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – An exciting list of promotions and giveaways have been announced for the 2023 West Virginia University baseball season.
This year's promotions at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark includes the return of Baseball Bingo, Friday Night Happy Hour and several themed games, as well as multiple giveaways, including phone wallets, shakers, lightsabers, replica jersey t-shirts, rally towels, pet bandanas, and a John Means bobblehead courtesy of United Bank.
Baseball Bingo can be played at the ballpark at every weekday game this season. That includes the team's home opener on Wednesday, March 8, against Canisius.
Friday Night Happy Hour returns for six contests this spring, with half-off beverages available from 5:30-6:30 p.m., before every Friday night home game (March 10, March 24, April 7, April 21, May 5 and May 12).
Fans also can partake in several themed days at the ballpark, such as Kids Day, which is set for four Sunday Big 12 games, beginning on April 9, against Kansas. Kids Days will feature a Kids Zone and inflatables. Kids also can run the bases and grab autographs from the team after the game.
Additionally, Family Day returns for all four Big 12 Saturdays (April 8, April 22, May 6 and May 13). Fans can purchase four tickets and receive a $10 concession voucher for just $25.
Dollar Days also are back in 2023, and set for Wednesday, March 8, against Canisius and Wednesday, March 22, against Hofstra. $2 Tuesdays also return on March 21, against Hofstra, and March 28, against Marshall, with select concessions on sale for $2. The game against Marshall will also be a True Blue game with fans receiving a blue shaker.
April 23, against TCU will also be our Gold Rush as well as the Lace Up for Pediatric Cancer game.
Other themed games include Camper Reunion Day on March 11, against Minnesota with free tickets available to campers, Star Wars Day on April 8, against Kansas with the first 200 fans receiving a WVU Lightsaber, and Superhero Day on April 22, against TCU where kids who dress up get free entry.
The Xavier series on March 24-26 will be Decades Weekend with the 80s on Friday, 90s on Saturday, and the 2000s on Sunday afternoon. Trivia night will be on April 25, against Penn State with prizes being given out every inning.
Military Appreciation Day will take place on May 6, against Oklahoma with free entry for military members. Fans will also get a military rally towel. The next day on May 7, will be Bark at the Park with the first 100 fans receiving a pet bandana.
Other giveaways include a baseball cap courtesy of WVU Medicine on April 21, against TCU, a replica jersey t-shirt against Pitt on May 3, and a John Means Bobblehead courtesy of United Bank on May 13, against Texas Tech.
The promotional schedule concludes on the final home game of the season on May 14, against Texas Tech with Senior Day.
