– The West Virginia University volleyball team (3-6) fell to CSU Bakersfield (3-6), on Saturday afternoon, to conclude the South Dakota Classic in Vermillion, South Dakota.
WVU struck first in each set, before falling in set three.
Freshman outside hitter Quincy Coyle led the Mountaineers in kills for the first time this season with 11. She also led WVU with 13 points.

Skye Stokes continued to lead West Virginia in digs, registering 15. Stokes led the Mountaineers in digs in each match throughout the South Dakota Classic.
Redshirt freshman setter
Kamiah Gibson racked up 18 assists to lead West Virginia.
Additionally, West Virginia recorded 33 kills and 46 digs against the Roadrunners.
Up next, WVU opens its home slate with the Mountaineer Invitational. West Virginia will take on Merrimack, Binghamton and Delaware State in the three-match tournament. First serve against Merrimack is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 15, at 12:30 p.m. ET.
