
WVU Falls to Conclude Homestand

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team fell to Baylor in three sets to wrap up a two-match homestand at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown on Saturday, Oct. 8.
The Mountaineers (6-11, 0-5 Big 12) fought hard in the third set to cut the No. 17 Baylor (14-3, 4-1 Big 12) lead to one late in the set but ultimately fell to conclude the match.
Fifth-year senior outside hitter Adrian Ell led the team with nine kills. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native also tallied two blocks, good for second on the team.
Freshman middle blocker Tierney Jackson recorded five blocks to lead the squad and added five kills during the match.
Redshirt freshman setter Kamiah Gibson racked up 21 assists to conclude the homestand.
Junior libero Skye Stokes led WVU with eight digs.
Additionally, West Virginia notched 26 kills and 28 digs to lead the match.
The squad returns to action, as it heads back out on the road to Ames, Iowa, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. ET, at the James H. Hilton Coliseum. Live streaming and live stats for the match can be found on WVUSports.com.
