– The West Virginia University volleyball team defeated Chicago State in three sets to begin a two-match homestand at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The Mountaineers (7-12, 0-6 Big 12) swept the Cougars (5-12,) to take the match. Saturday marks the third sweep of the season for WVU.
Freshman outside hitter
Bailey Miller led the team with 15 kills. The Quinlan, Texas, native also added nine digs, good for third on the team.
Freshman middle blocker
Tierney Jackson recorded seven blocks to lead the squad. Jackson's seven blocks were good enough for her collegiate best.
Fifth-year senior outside hitter
Adrian Ell racked up 17 assists to open the homestand. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native also tallied 10 digs for her eighth double-double of the campaign.
Junior libero
Skye Stokes led WVU with 18 digs.
Additionally, West Virginia notched 44 kills and 49 digs to lead the match.
The squad returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 19, when it welcomes Kansas to the WVU Coliseum. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. Live stats for the match can be found on
