MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (13-2, 1-2 Big 12) fac off against Cincinnati (9-5, 1-3) on Wednesday, Oct. 8. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, inside the Hope Coliseum in Morgantown, W.Va.

Wednesday's match marks the 20th meeting between the Bearcats and the Mountaineers. Cincinnati leads the all-time series, 16-3 which dates back to 1981. Cincinnati has claimed the early advantage this season, beating West Virginia back on Sept. 27 with a score of 3 set to 1 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Last time out, West Virginia secured a historic win over No. 19 BYU. It was the first win at home against a ranked opponent in program history and only the fifth win against a ranked opponent in 51 seasons.
West Virginia ranks top three in three different categories in conferences. They are second in overall win percentage (.867), hitting percentage (0.285), and team total blocks (144.0). They are fourth in service aces and service aces per set at 95 and 1.67, respectively.
Junior outside hitter
Nina Horning is fifth in the conference with 22 service aces, as well as seventh in aces per set at 0.39. Junior middle blocker McGath and senior middle blocker
Laila Ibrahim are both top fifteen in blocks per set, with 1.14 blocks per set.
Danijela Tomic is in her first season at the helm of the Bearcats, with a 9-5 record. Cincinnati enters Wednesday's match with a 9-5 record and 1-3 in Big 12 play this season, dropping their last match against Kansas State three sets to two on Friday, Oct 3rd in Cincinnati, Ohio.

LonDynn Betts was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, October 7—the first of her career. This recognition marks West Virginia's first conference award of the season and its first honoree since October 17, 2023.
