MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (13–4, 1–4 Big 12) travels to Ames, Iowa for a Thursday night match against the Iowa State Cyclones (14–3, 4-2 Big 12). First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Oct 16 inside Hilton Coliseum.

Thursday's contest marks the 29th all-time meeting between the Mountaineers and the Cyclones, with Iowa State holding a 24–4 advantage in the series dating back to 1994. West Virginia seeks its first win over the Cyclones since 2021.
West Virginia enters the match ranked top five in five different categories in the conference. They are second in total blocks (164.0), third in hitting percentage (.275), and fifth in aces per set (1.55), blocks per set (2.56), and team service aces with 99.

West Virginia looks to bounce back after a road loss to UCF on October 12.
Iowa State, led by head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch in her 21st season (career record: 394–222), enters the match 14-3 and 4-2 in conference following a road loss to No. 15 Kansas on October 10. Senior outside hitter Maya Duckworth was named to the Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Team.
