Mountaineers’ Big 12 Slate Revealed

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Director of Athletics Shane Lyons and the Big 12 Conference announced the 2021 conference baseball schedule on Friday.

West Virginia's 24-game, conference slate features home series against Kansas, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech, as well as road trips to Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas. This spring marks the Mountaineers' ninth season competing in the Big 12.

WVU opens conference action by playing host to Kansas, on March 26-28, at Monongalia County Ballpark. From there, back-to-back trips to Oklahoma State (April 2-4) and Baylor (April 9-11) await the club.

The Mountaineers return home to take on Texas Tech, from April 16-18, before heading back on the road for a three-game set at Kansas State (April 23-25). TCU makes the trip to Morgantown from April 30-May 2.

West Virginia's final home, conference series is set for May 7-9, against Oklahoma, before Big 12 play wraps at Texas, from May 20-22.

The 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 26-30, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Mountaineers are one of five Big 12 schools to be featured in D1Baseball.com's Preseason Top 25, which was released on Monday. WVU checks in at No. 14, good for the highest preseason ranking by a major poll in program history. Along with West Virginia, Texas Tech ranks No. 3, while Texas and TCU sit at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively. Oklahoma State was placed at No. 20.
