MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University athletics digital media team will be re-airing the Mountaineers' unforgettable 2010 run to the Final Four in Indianapolis, Indiana, on men's basketball's official Facebook page (
www.facebook.com/wvuhoops).
Mountaineer March Memories tips off this Friday at 12:15 p.m. with the Morgan State game and runs throughout the rest of the month as we relive some of the greatest NCAA Tournament moments in school history.
Feature stories on West Virginia's NCAA Tournament victory over second-seeded Wake Forest in 2005, the 1959 Final Four triumph over Louisville at Freedom Hall, women's basketball's big win against Clemson at the Coliseum in 1992 to reach the Sweet 16 and the men's stunning upset of No. 1 seed Kentucky at the Carrier Dome in 2010 will be posted on WVUsports.com throughout March.
Select interviews with some of the key participants from those great games will also be available on your favorite podcasting services.
This special look back is presented by Encova Insurance.

It all begins with the 2010 gang returning for an encore, 10 years later! It's All-American guard Da'sean Butler and all of his game-winnings shots, plus dynamic forward Devin Ebanks, Wellington Smith, Kevin Jones, Truck Bryant, Joe Mazzulla, John Flowers, Cam Thoroughman, Jonnie West, Deniz Kilicli, Casey Mitchell and the rest of the crew.
What a special group of guys and what a special season, one of the greatest in school history!
West Virginia's road to the Final Four began at HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York, on March 19 when it blew out Morgan State 77-50. Two days later, the Mountaineers slowed down Missouri's "Fastest 40 Minutes in Basketball" team 68-59 to reach the Sweet 16.
On March 25 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York, WVU was a 13-point winner over Washington to set up a Saturday night regional championship matchup against second-ranked Kentucky, which boasted an all-NBA-first-round-draft-pick starting five, including No. 1 overall choice John Wall.
West Virginia got all of its first-half field goals from behind the 3-point line, and that opened up Joe Mazzulla's daring second-half drives to the rim as the Mountaineer stunned the Wildcats 73-66.
It was West Virginia's first NCAA Final Four appearance since Jonnie West's dad, Jerry, played for the Mountaineers in 1959.
Unfortunately, veteran coach
Bob Huggins' quest to win a national championship for his alma mater fell one game short in Indianapolis on April 4 when Butler's knee gave out on him in the second half of the Duke loss.
The fateful moment, which came with 8:59 remaining and Huggins tenderly cupping his star guard's head in his arms while Butler writhed in pain, instantly became one of the most iconic sights in Final Four history.
All five rebroadcasts will air at the exact time they tipped 10 years ago.
