MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team returns to Florida for the second consecutive week to compete in the Seminole Intercollegiate, hosted by Florida State, from Feb. 22-23 in Tallahassee, Florida.
West Virginia is tabbed to compete in the event for the fifth straight season, with competition taking place at the Golden Eagle Country Club.
Joining the No. 47 Mountaineers and host No. 46 Seminoles on the course this weekend are No. 17 Washington, No. 25 East Tennessee State, No. 32 North Florida, No. 33 Liberty, No. 45 James Madison, Chattanooga, Jacksonville, Kent State, North Alabama, South Alabama and Southern Illinois.
Golfers will tee off on Saturday at 8 a.m. ET in a shotgun start, playing 36 continuous holes on the par-72, 6,965-yard Golden Eagle Course. For the third and final round of play on Sunday, tee times will be assigned off holes No. 1 and No. 10 beginning at 7:30 a.m. ET. The Mountaineers are paired with North Florida and Liberty for the first and second rounds.
"We are excited to get back to tournament golf so quickly after a solid showing last weekend," Mountaineer coach
Sean Covich said. "I saw a lot of positives from our lineup last weekend, but we also had some things we need to improve upon. Returning to Florida State's event for the fifth consecutive year should bring some familiarity for us. I am looking forward to seeing how our guys perform this weekend in Tallahassee."

Logan Perkins will represent WVU on the course for the second straight tournament. The top four scores will count towards West Virginia's overall team score.
At the Seminole Intercollegiate in 2019, WVU finished tied for third place after notching a three-round team total of 284-285-285=854 to finish 10-under par, tying with Jacksonville. Papineau paced the squad, finishing tied for sixth with a score of 213 for three-under. Wake Forest was crowned the team champion at 13-under.
In their last outing, the Mountaineers placed sixth at the Florida Gator Invitational, held from Feb. 15-16 in Gainesville, Fla. Perkins paced the squad, finishing second overall at six-under par after carding a program record 62 in the second round of play.
Perkins currently leads WVU with a 71.53 scoring average, while the Locust Grove, Georgia, native ranks No. 7 in Golfstat.com's low round season standings in NCAA Division I. Freshman
Nico Lang is just behind Perkins, sitting second on the team with a 71.81 scoring average.
