Mountaineers Remain No. 3

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team continues to rank No. 3 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Rankings.
This week's rankings are based on NCAA Team Selection Rankings, which are comprised of a squad's top-three scores earned at three different venues. The Mountaineers (9-1, 7-1 GARC) claim an average of 4717.67.
West Virginia most recently suffered its first Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) loss of the season, as the Mountaineers fell, 4723-4712, to Kentucky on Feb. 15, at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building, in Morgantown.
Kentucky (4727) ranks No. 1, followed by TCU (4718.33) at No. 2. Nebraska (4686) sits behind WVU at No. 4, and Akron (4682.33) ranks No. 5.
Air Force (4682) checks in at No. 6, and Ole Miss (4676.33) comes in at No. 7. Memphis (4675), Murray State (4674.67) and Navy (4672) round out the top 10.
The Mountaineers shoot an NCAA Qualifying Match on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 8 a.m., at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building. It's Senior Day, and admission is free for all fans.
