Tshiebwe Earns Third Big 12 Newcomer Honor

Tyrese Haliburton (Iowa State) registered the Conference's first triple-double of the season to earn his second Big 12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week while Oscar Tshiebwe (West Virginia) recorded a double-double to garner Newcomer of the Week for the third time.

Haliburton missed Iowa State's midweek game with an injury but returned for the conference opener at TCU and posted the sixth triple-double in school history. The sophomore guard finished with 22 points, a career-high 12 rebounds and 10 assists, while also adding three steals. The triple-double was the 17th all-time in the Big 12 and the first since March 21, 2017.

Tshiebwe posted his sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and 17 rebounds at No. 3 Kansas. He also added two blocks and a steal. The freshman forward had already collected 15 points and 10 rebounds by halftime. He leads the nation in offensive rebounding percentage.
