"We are looking for some really good performances this weekend," Mountaineer coach
Jon Hammond said. "We haven't traveled to Ohio State in a couple years, so this is going to be a fairly new venue for a lot of them, but it's a good opportunity. I want them to really work on the things that they have been working on in practice and commit to shooting the way that they want to shoot. They had a good week, and I think this will be a really good test for them to go out and implement that into competition."
WVU (8-0, 7-0 GARC) is 46-0 all-time against Ohio State. In their last regular-season meeting, the Mountaineers claimed a 4683-4650 victory over the Buckeyes on Oct. 20, 2018, in Morgantown. West Virginia swept the disciplines, winning smallbore, 2315-2298, and air rifle, 2368-2352.
WVU opened its spring season last weekend, earning a 4683-4648 win over No. 11 Army on Jan. 26, at the Bill McKenzie Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building. The Mountaineers swept the Black Knights in both disciples, winning smallbore, 2316-2306, and air rifle, 2367-2342.
Junior
David Koenders placed first overall with an aggregate total of 1179, while Army's Clayton Hanson and senior

Morgan Phillips shot 588 for the discipline win.
WVU dropped one spot to No. 3 in this week's College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Rankings. This week's rankings are based on NCAA Team Selection Rankings, which are comprised of a squad's top-three scores earned at three different venues. The Mountaineers claim an average of 4717.67.
