Four to Compete at World Cup

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Four from the West Virginia University rifle team will represent their countries at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Fort Benning World Cup for Rifle/Pistol this week at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, Georgia.
Senior Elizabeth Gratz and junior Ginny Thrasher will compete for the United States, while sophomore Milica Babic will compete for Serbia and redshirt-freshman David Koenders will shoot for Germany.
Competition begins Wednesday, May 9, with the women's 10m air rifle; Gratz, Thrasher and Babic all will compete in the event.
Koenders will shoot in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions on May 10 and the men's 10m air rifle on May 11.
The women's 50m rifle 3 positions competition will be held Saturday, May 12. Babic will compete in the main competition, with Thrasher shooting in a Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS) position, meaning she is ineligible for the final or a medal.
More than 350 athletes from 53 nations will compete at the ISSF Fort Benning World Cup.
