Carter Named Associated Press All-American

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior guard Jevon Carter has been named to the Associated Press All-America second team.
Carter, a Maywood, Illinois, resident, led the Mountaineers to their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and third NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in the last four years by averaging 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
Carter was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team and All-Big 12 Defensive Team. He was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
Carter has also been named to the Sporting News (second team), USA Today (third team), NBC Sports (third team) and NABC (third team) All-America teams this season.
Joining Carter on the second team is Keita Bates-Diop (Ohio State), Trevon Bluiett (Xavier), Jock Landale (St. Mary's) and Miles Bridges (Michigan State). The first team was comprised of Jalen Brunson (Villanova), Devonte' Graham (Kansas), Deandre Ayton (Arizona), Trae Young (Oklahoma) and Marvin Bagley III (Duke). The third team consisted of Keenan Evans (Texas Tech), Carsen Edwards (Purdue), Mikal Bridges (Villanova), Luke Maye (North Carolina) and Kyle Guy (Virginia).
