The West Virginia University track and field team features six student-athletes ranked in the top eight of this week's Mid-Atlantic Regional event rankings, presented by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Redshirt junior
Madelin Gardner continues to rank first in the women's pole vault, while senior
Shamoya McNeil ranks No. 1 in the women's triple jump. In all, the Mountaineers are represented in five different events.
Gardner tops the region's pole vault list for the third consecutive week after her indoor school-record performance at the Akron Invitational on Feb. 3. Gardner earned a mark of 4.37 meters (14 feet, 4 inches) in the event, breaking her own indoor school record of 4.15 meters, which was set earlier in the season. The Williamstown, West Virginia, native also ranks No. 8 nationally in the event.
McNeil's season-best mark of 12.82 meters (42 feet, 0.75 inches) in the women's triple jump, at Feb. 3's Akron Invitational also is good for the region lead.
Redshirt senior
Amy Cashin is ranked in a pair of events this week. The Werribee, Victoria, Australia, native is second in the women's mile and women's 3,000 meters. Cashin recorded a time of 4:36.89 (converted) in the mile at the UCS Invitational on Feb. 17, which comes in at No. 14 nationally this week.
Cashin's top 3,000 meters time of 9:11.24 was achieved at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9.
Redshirt senior
Maggie Drazba also is featured in the regional rankings in a pair of events. She owns the fifth-best times in the women's 3,000 meters (9:27.37) from the Penn State National Open on Jan. 27, and the women's 5,000 meters (16:34.48) from the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Additionally, junior
Danique Bryan ranks third in the women's triple jump, two spots behind McNeil for the Mid-Atlantic Regional lead. Bryan recorded a mark of 12.36 meters (40 feet, 6.75 inches) at the Penn State National Open. Senior
Sara Finfrock sits fourth in the women's pole vault with a mark of 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3.5 inches) from the Marshall Invitational on Feb. 9.
In the team rankings, WVU continues to rank sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Regional this week.
The Mountaineers will be back in action when they travel to the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships, from Feb. 23-24, in Ames, Iowa.
