
Pair Receives Scholar All-Region Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior defenders Easther Mayi Kith and Bianca St. Georges of the West Virginia University women's soccer team were named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-South Region First Team.
The honors are the second career recognitions for the duo and the second consecutive first-team accolade for St. Georges. Mayi Kith was named to the second team in 2017. Twenty-six Mountaineers have earned Scholar All-Region honors since 2006.
A native of St. Felix de Valois, Quebec, St. Georges is an exercise physiology major and boasts a 4.00 grade point average (GPA). Named the Google Cloud Academic All-America® of the Year for Division I women's soccer on Dec. 6, she is a two-time Academic All-America® First Team honoree and a three-time award recipient. A three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree, St. Georges was a finalist for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award and landed on the award's All-America first team. Named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Second Team, she also is a President's List honoree and a member of the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll.
St. Georges, a two-time team captain, was a candidate for the 2018 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy and earned United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team accolades. The 2018 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, she is a two-time All-Big 12 First Team honoree and started 80-of-81 career matches.
Mayi Kith, a native of Quebec City, Quebec, is an exercise physiology major and shows a 3.80 GPA. A candidate for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award, she is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree. Mayi Kith has been named to the President's and Dean's Lists, as well as the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll.
A four-year starter at center back, Mayi Kith finished her Mountaineer career ranked No. 4 in career starts (89) and No. 5 in career matches played (93). She was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and earned Most Outstanding Defensive Player accolades at the 2018 Big 12 Soccer Championship.
The duo helped the Mountaineer defense post 12 shutouts this season. WVU (15-4-4, 7-2) claimed the conference crown at the 2018 Big 12 Soccer Championship and qualified for its 19th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
