MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore goalkeeper Rylee Foster of the West Virginia University women's soccer team will compete for Canada Soccer at the CONCACAF U-20 Women's Championship in Trinidad and Tobago from Jan. 18-28.
 
Playing in Group A, Canada opens the Tournament against Costa Rica on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 3 p.m. EST, at Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, Trinidad and Tobago. Also in the Group Stage, Canada will face Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 5:30 p.m. EST and Haiti on Monday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m. EST. All matches will take place at Ato Boldon Stadium.
 
Semifinal play is set for Friday, Jan. 26, and the third place and championship matches will take place on Sunday, Jan. 28.
 
The championship will serve as the qualification tournament for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup France.
 
A native of Cambridge, Ontario, Foster is a mainstay on the Canadian U-20 Women's National Team and is entering her fourth year with the squad. In 2015, she helped Canada finish in second place at the CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship Honduras. She also made the team's roster for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
 
At WVU in 2017, Foster earned her second straight all-region honor, as she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team. She also was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team for the second straight season.
 
The Mountaineers' starting goalkeeper for all 23 matches, Foster earned credit for a conference-best 12 clean sheets and finished the year ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 with a 0.64 goals-against average (GAA). She finished the season ranked No. 5 among active Division I players with a 0.55 career GAA and No. 30 with 20 career shutouts.
