SALT LAKE CITY, Utah –
The West Virginia University women's soccer team is set to finish up a four-game road stretch at Utah on Saturday, Sept. 27. Kickoff at Ute Field in Salt Lake City is slated for 8 p.m. ET/6 p.m. MT.

Saturday's matchup marks the first-ever meeting between West Virginia and Utah, as the Utes are set to become the Mountaineers' 126th different opponent all time. Utah is the third new opponent for West Virginia this season, as well as the first new Big 12 opponent of the year. Previously this season, West Virginia faced Akron and Army for the first time, with both games resulting in 3-0 WVU wins at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. Over the last seven years, WVU is 11-3-2 against first-time opponents.
Last time out, West Virginia earned a thrilling, 3-2 victory over No. 16 BYU at South Field in Provo, Utah, on Sept. 24. Earning their first ranked win since 2022, the Mountaineers also handed BYU its first Big 12 Conference loss at home since joining the league in 2023. Taylor White. White's goal was credited as the game winner and marked the 20th score of her career.
Offensively, the game was very close, with BYU narrowly edging West Virginia 15-13 in shots. WVU took a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal, while the Cougars won the corner kick battle, 8-3.
White leads the team with four goals, six assists and 14 points on the year. She ranks No. 3 in the Big 12 and No. 12 nationally in assists per game (0.67), as well as No. 4 in the league in total points.
Hideki Nakada is in his fifth season as the head women's soccer coach at Utah. The Utes enter Saturday's matchup with a 5-4-2 record so far in 2025, as the squad is coming off a 0-0 draw with Cincinnati on Sept. 24. Kelly Bullock leads the Utes' offense so far this season with three goals, two assists and eight points. In goal, Erin Gibbs has registered 21 saves and a 0.677 save percentage on the year.
