MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team closes its home spring slate against Xavier on Sunday, April 9, at 3 p.m., at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The match is free and open to the public.
“We’re looking forward to another opportunity to get better as a team on Sunday,” Mountaineer coach Nikki Izzo-Brown said. “I liked our second-half intensity against Pitt last week, and I want us to bring that same focus against Xavier this week.”
WVU improved to 1-0-1 on the spring with a 5-1 victory against Pitt on April 2. Sophomore forward Hannah Abraham tallied two goals, while junior Alli Magaletta netted the game-winner in the 50th minute. The Mountaineer defense held the Panthers to eight shots.
Members of the Big East Conference, the Musketeers went 7-11-1 in 2016.
