Senior Alexa Goldberg received the Joseph Medrick Award as the team’s top all-around gymnast in 2016. Last season, she also competed in all 13 meets and finished her junior year ranked No. 44 nationally on the uneven bars with a 9.87 RQS.

Michael Phelps because he likes to eat a lot

“Ability is what you can do, attitude determines how well you can do it.”
What is something most people might not know about you?
I love cars
Who would you want to play you if they made a movie about your life?
My cats: Crystal, Kitrina and Tushy. Or just Crystal, I grew up with her.

My parents
What inspires you the most?
Seeing everyone around me and realizing my potential and options of what’s in store for my future

Favorite WVU memory (so far)?
My first college gymnastics meet, stepping out onto the Coliseum floor with my adrenaline rushing
What is your favorite spot on campus?
Looking outside my apartment stairs and seeing all of campus and the Coliseum lit up at night

Nap time
What is something you’ve always wanted to do but never got the chance to?
Snowboard and skydive
What one accomplishment are you most proud of?
Overall just helping out my team whether it is with gymnastics or their every-day life
How would other teammates describe you in one word?
Spastic, funny, gullible, fun
What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people walk slowly in front of me
How would you like WVU gymnastics to remember you?
As a kind-hearted, loving, funny and somewhat spastic person
What was the most defining moment of your gymnastics career thus far?
The 2016 NCAA Regional meet. I messed up bars on the first rotation and was resilient enough to come back and not give up.
What food could you live off of for the rest of your life?
Cheese and pasta
What are three things you couldn’t live without?
My cats, my doll and blankets, food

What was it that made you decide to come to WVU?
Overall the academics had what I wanted and I knew the gymnastics program was a perfect fit, so it all fell into place really nicely.
