MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Season tickets for the 2017 West Virginia University baseball season are now on sale. Fans can join the excitement of WVU baseball and contribute to the home field advantage at Monongalia County Ballpark by calling 1-800-WVU GAME, purchasing tickets at WVUGAME.com or visiting the Mountaineer Ticket Office at the WVU Coliseum.
Priority season tickets for the Mountaineers’ third season at Monongalia County Ballpark are available to 2016-17 Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) members and 2016 WVU baseball season ticket holders. Fans can keep their previous seat locations by renewing by Jan. 13.
Fans interested in purchasing new season tickets for the 2017 WVU baseball season can also do so through the Mountaineer Ticket Office.
Seat locations will be allocated based on MAC annual giving level and priority points rank within your giving level. Seat locations will be assigned to non-MAC members following the completion of the priority allocation process.
For the 23-game home schedule, season tickets are $135 each for reserved seating in the five sections behind home plate, and $110 for reserved seating behind the first and third base dugouts. WVU faculty and staff members can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $110 behind home plate and $90 behind the dugouts. Discounted tickets for faculty and staff can only be purchased in person or via phone.
To order 2017 baseball season tickets, call 1-800-WVU GAME, visit WVUGAME.com or stop by the Mountaineer Ticket Office in the WVU Coliseum.
The 23-game home schedule at Monongalia County Ballpark includes games against reigning Big 12 champion Texas Tech (May 5-7) and Big 12 Tournament champion TCU (April 14-16), as well as Oklahoma (April 28-30), Kansas (April 7-9), Pitt (May 16), Marshall (April 4) and Penn State (May 9). All but four home games, and every Big 12 game, will be played in April and May.
The Mountaineers are coming off a stellar campaign, where they won 36 games, the most since 2009, and advanced to their first ever Big 12 Tournament championship game. WVU went 20-10 at Monongalia County Ballpark, capping the home season on a nine-game winning streak.
West Virginia’s strong home record was fueled by a record attendance of 40,390 throughout the season in Morgantown.
A steady rise in home attendance in WVU’s first four seasons in the Big 12 Conference has proved a pivotal home field advantage. In the Mountaineers’ first four seasons in the league, coach Randy Mazey has guided the team to a winning record at home and a Big 12 Championship berth in each season, capped by last year’s 36-22 campaign and run to the Big 12 championship game.
The 2017 season unofficially begins with the annual Leadoff Dinner, set for Saturday, Jan. 28, and more information about attending the event can be found at WVUMAC.com/Leadoff. The 2017 schedule is available here. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to WVUsports.com for the latest news and updates on the upcoming 2017 season.
