Notebook: WVU Hits the Film Room
November 05, 2015 03:27 PM | Women's Basketball
West Virginia women’s basketball is just nine days away from tipping off the 2015-16 season. The Mountaineers open the campaign against Delaware State on Saturday, Nov. 14. Tipoff will be announced once kickoff has been determined for the WVU vs. Texas football game.
Hitting the Film Room
Coach Mike Carey has seen progress in his squad that is the sixth youngest nationally, but there still needs to be much more improvement before the team opens the season against Delaware. One of the team’s biggest weaknesses last week against Shepherd was turning the ball over 21 times. Carey noted that his team improved quite a bit after watching themselves on film.
“When we had film a session, we got through half the first quarter and enough was said,” noted Carey. “We have a lot of work to do. Anytime, you put in a lot of combinations, it’s going to be sloppy out there. After we watched film, we came out and had one of the better practices. I think they realize (they need to get better). I think it is one thing me telling them what to do and another with them seeing it on film.”
