Kellogg Announces Signing of Kennedy Harris

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women's basketball head coach Mark Kellogg has announced the addition of Kennedy Harris (Hampton, Va. / George Mason / Hampton HS) to a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 academic year.
"Kennedy is a proven competitor who has continued to grow her game throughout her career," Kellogg said. "She is a confident point guard with a nice feel for the game. She's versatile, plays with confidence, and understands how to make winning plays. Kennedy fits our culture and style of play extremely well, and we're excited about what she will bring to our program."
The 5-foot-7 guard from Hampton, Virginia has played three seasons of collegiate basketball with one season of eligibility left after beginning her career at George Mason.
For her career, she has played 85 games while making 59 starts. She has scored 1,075 points, averaging 12.6 points per game to go along with 174 assists and 141 steals.
Harris is a two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference selection with selections on the first team in 2026 and the second team in 2025. She adds honors on the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament team, Academic Team and a CSC Academic All District Selection last season. Additionally, she has been named a two time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, Four time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and to the 2024 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.
Last season, she played all 33 games where she led the team with 466 points on 171-for-486 shooting, including a team-best 57 3-pointers made. She also led the team with 71 steals and 76 assists and added 84 rebounds.
During her freshman and sophomore seasons, she averaged 9.4 and 13.9 points per game, respectively, and averaged over 2.3 assists per game during both seasons.
In high school, she was a two-time Peninsula District Player of the Year, a 4A Regional Player of the Year, Class 4 State Champion, a Class 4 State Player of the Year and the Tidewater Girls Player of the Year. She averaged 31.4 points, 8.0 steals and 4.0 assists per game in high school. She played club for the Fairfax Stars where they finished third in the country at the Nike EYBL Circuit. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was an Academy of Technology and Engineering Ambassador.
Harris intends to major in art and design while at West Virginia University. She is the daughter of Terra Chalmers-Harris and Lorenzo Harris Jr. She has two siblings in Kendall and Dequan.
