MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 4-ranked West Virginia University women’s soccer team will play host to second- and third-round games in the 2015 NCAA Tournament on Nov. 20 and 22, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The No. 2-seeded Mountaineers (17-2-1, 6-0-1) will face Northwestern in the second of two games Friday night, with first kick between the teams set for 6 p.m. Minnesota and Loyola Marymount will kick at 3 p.m. in the first contest.
The winners of Friday’s matches will meet Sunday in the tournament’s third round at 1 p.m.
Tickets for Friday’s game go on sale tomorrow, Nov. 16, at 9 a.m., at
WVUGAME.com. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and youth, and $2 for groups of 10 or more. Group tickets will only be available in advance and not at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium gate on game day. One ticket provides admission for both games Friday.
With the men’s basketball team playing at 7 p.m. Friday night, parking will be extremely limited in the parking lots around the WVU Coliseum Complex. Fans who arrive to park in the Natatorium/Band lot before 6 p.m. can park free of charge. Fans who arrive after 6 p.m. to park in the Natatorium/Band lot will be charged $10 for parking to attend either the soccer match or the basketball game.
Friday is the first-ever meeting between the Mountaineers and the Wildcats (14-5-2, 7-3-1 Big Ten). WVU is 3-0 against teams from the Big Ten Conference this season.
WVU advances to the tournament’s second round for first time since 2013 and the 10th time in program history. This weekend marks the first time the Mountaineers will play host to second- and third-round games since the NCAA adopted the current tournament format in 2011.
The Mountaineers opened the tournament with a 4-0 victory over Duquesne in the first round on Nov. 13, in Morgantown. Northwestern upset No. 24-ranked Washington State, 1-0, in double-overtime, on Nov. 14, in Pullman, Washington.
