Women’s Hoops Promotional Schedule Unveiled

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s basketball team announced its promotional schedule for the 2015-16 season on Tuesday.
Saturday, November 14 is the season opener for the Mountaineers when WVU welcomes Delaware State to the Coliseum. Admission to Saturday’s 7 p.m. contest is free for all fans courtesy of United Bank. Carey’s Crew members can also pick up their complimentary membership t-shirt.
On Wednesday, Dec. 2, West Virginia hosts Morehead State in a 7 p.m. tilt. Fans will be able to print off a free coupon for popcorn via the team’s social media accounts.
The Mountaineers face Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday, Dec. 6 in a 4 p.m. game. Carey’s Crew members will have a pizza party at the contest and an autograph session following the game. Additionally, kids can bring a completed Musket coloring sheet for free admission by downloading it at WVUsports.com.
The game on Dec. 6 will be the first of six ‘Kids Days’ as Mr. Twister Total Entertainment will be in attendance to provide balloon animals & face painting for kids. Mr. Twister, and the popular DJ Dollar, will also be featured at all five Big 12 Conference Saturday home games.
The annual ‘Feed A Family Night’ food drive will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 16 when WVU hosts Longwood at 7 p.m. Any fan that brings a non-perishable food item for donation to the Blue Gate will receive a coupon for a hot dog at the next women’s basketball game (limit two per person).
WVU’s Big 12 opener against Texas on Wednesday, Dec. 30, is a United Bank $1 Admission. Additionally, the Mountaineers will host a Teddy Bear Toss following the game. Fans are invited to bring new or gently used teddy bears and other stuffed animals to toss on the court at the game. All donated items will be distributed by the City of Morgantown Police and Monongalia County Sherriff’s Office to child victims of crime and trauma.
Superhero Day is set for Saturday, Jan. 16 when the Mountaineers host Kansas. Admission is $1 courtesy of United Bank. The first 1,500 kids in attendance will receive a superhero mask courtesy of United Bank. Additionally, Heroes4Higher’s Batman and the Batmobile will be at the game.
The Mountaineers welcome defending Big 12 Champion Baylor for Family Day on Saturday, Jan. 30. A family day package includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a popcorn for just $25, which must be purchased in advance at WVUGAME.com or by calling 1-800 WVU GAME. Family Day packages are not available on game day. The contest is a Gold Rush and fans are encouraged to wear their favorite gold WVU gear. WVU will also honor its alumni during the game.
West Virginia participates in the annual Play4Kay pink game on Saturday, Feb. 6 against Kansas State. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to help raise breast cancer awareness. Admission to the contest is free courtesy of WVU Medicine.
WVU hosts two more United Bank $1 Admission Days on Wednesday, Feb. 10 against Iowa State and Wednesday, Feb. 24 against TCU. The contests are both slated for 7 p.m. tipoffs.
Faculty-Staff Night is set for Wednesday, Feb. 17 when WVU hosts Oklahoma. Senior Day is slated for Saturday, Feb. 27, when the Mountaineers welcome Oklahoma State. The contest with the Cowgirls will also be Family Day. A family day package includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a popcorn for just $25.
