MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team continues to rank No. 4 in today’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I Women’s Top 25 Poll.
The Mountaineers (11-1, 2-0) first earned the program-best ranking last week.
Nineteen points separate WVU and Virginia (8-1-1, 2-1 ACC), the No. 3-ranked team. UVA earned two first-place votes.
North Carolina (11-0-1, 4-0 ACC) continues to rank No. 1, having secured the remaining 29 first-place votes. Florida State (10-1-1, 3-0 ACC) sits at No. 2. BYU (10-1-1, 2-0) is up one spot to No. 5.
Stanford (9-2, 3-0 Pac-12) ranks No. 6 and is followed by Clemson (9-1-1, 3-1 ACC) at No. 7, Auburn (11-1, 4-1 SEC) at No. 8 and Virginia Tech (11-1-1, 3-1 ACC) and South Carolina (10-1-1, 4-0-1 SEC) at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
Texas Tech (7-1-4, 0-0-2), the only other Big 12 Conference school ranked, moved up two spots to No. 13.
WVU returns to the road this weekend for a pair of Big 12 Conference matches. WVU opens its two-game swing at Oklahoma on Friday, Oct. 9, with kick for the OU Soccer Complex set for 8 p.m. ET. FOX Sports Oklahoma, FOX Sports Southwest Plus and FOX Sports Atlantic will broadcast the match. It also will be available on the FOX Sports Go app.
The Mountaineers will then travel to Lubbock, Texas, for a Sunday showdown against the Red Raiders. First kick from the John Walker Soccer Complex is set for 2 p.m. ET.
