October 26, 2015 04:43 PM | Women's Basketball
Game week has finally arrived. The 2015-16 West Virginia University women’s basketball team will hit the hardwood this Saturday for the first time in an exhibition game against Shepherd for the fourth annual Haunted Hoops game, presented by Coke Zero. The game is set for Saturday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. inside the WVU Coliseum.
Haunted Hoops presented by Coke Zero is a Halloween-themed first look at the 2015-16 WVU women’s basketball team, and is free and open to the public. The evening’s events will include several children’s activities in the concourse, a highlight video of last season and performances from the Mountaineer cheerleaders and dance team.
The evening will begin in the Coliseum parking lot at 5 p.m. with Trunk or Treat sponsored by the Institute of Industrial Engineers. Trunk or Treat is an opportunity for kids dressed in their Halloween costume to receive candy from various registered student organizations out of trunks of their respective vehicles. Organizations will also be set up inside the Coliseum to distribute candy as well. Those wishing to participate should bring a clear grocery bag to fill with goodies.
WVU Coliseum gates open at 6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume.

“We have 11 new players this year,” noted Carey. “Practice time is so important this time of year. We have eight freshman and three players in the system for the first time. Practice has been good. At times, we look very good and at times we look like we don’t know what we’re doing. That’s going to happen early. These players play hard, have great attitudes and have great team chemistry. We’ll continue to get better as the year goes along.”
