Taylor Covington joined the WVU athletics staff in September 2022 as assistant athletics director for business operations and is responsible for assisting with the overall management of the athletics business office, while also providing personnel oversight of the athletics business office and managing the department’s budget on a day-to-day basis.
In addition, Covington assists in the development of the annual revenue and expense budget for athletics.
Taylor comes to WVU from Brigham Young University where he worked in the Cougars’ business office as a graduate assistant for strategy and business development. In this role, he specialized in strategic project development, fan experience, department operations, NIL, revenue forecast modeling and financial strategy while pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. Prior to that, Covington spent six years working at Deloitte and Pricewatterhouse Coopers (PwC) as a sports business strategy and finance consultant.
In his spare time, he also served as an assistant lacrosse coach at Timpview High in Provo, Utah.
Covington earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from BYU in 2016.
Taylor and his wife Jenny have two girls, (Leah and Chanler) and two boys, (Ty and Taysom).
They reside in Morgantown.
