David Ratzer was hired as an electronics technician for Mountaineer athletics in February 2023.
In this role, Ratzer assists with all electronics for WVU’s athletic venues and is tasked with electronic, video and audio support for all 18 varsity teams at WVU home events and maintaining each individual system.
Ratzer began his association with West Virginia University athletics as a student manager with women’s soccer in 2016 and was hired full-time on Nikki Izzo-Brown’s staff in 2020 as director of operations and camps. It was during this time that he developed his technology skills, which led to his current role with the department.
His prior collegiate work experience also includes event management with WVU athletics facilities.
He possesses bachelor’s degree in sport management from WVU and is currently working on a master's degree in sport management.
The Randolph County native and his wife, Madison, reside in Morgantown.
