Golf Returns to Action in Michigan

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team will return to action this weekend at the Island Resort Collegiate, hosted by South Dakota State, on Sunday and Monday at Sage Run Golf Club in Bark River, Michigan.
Golfers will hit the links in tee times starting at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday and will play 36 holes with the final 18 set for Monday. Sage Run is a par-72 course playing at 7,200 yards.
This will be the second consecutive year WVU will play in this event. Last year, the Mountaineers won the event with a school record 55-under-par score, while Ryan Leach captured the individual title, shooting a school record 17-under-par.
This year, joining West Virginia and host South Dakota State, will be Michigan, Saint Mary's, UCF, Miami University, Ball State, Boise State, VCU, Marquette, North Texas and Kansas City.
West Virginia will have five team members and one individual compete in this tournament. Those six will be Leach, Nick Turowski, Aidan Dortch, Jack Michael, Gabe Schmitz and Michael Shivers.
