
West Virginia Earns 21 Great American Rifle Conference Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Eight shooters from the West Virginia University rifle team earned a combined 21 honors on the 2025-26 All Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) Team, the league announced. Jennifer Kocher also claimed individual league honors in addition to her all-conference team selections as she represented West Virginia as GARC's Scholar-Athlete.
Of WVU's 20 All-GARC team honors this year, seven student-athletes made the smallbore team, six made the air rifle team, and seven were a part of the combined (smallbore and air rifle) team.
The duo of Griffin Lake and Kocher swept first-team all-conference honors across all three categories.
In smallbore, Lake (593.2) and Kocher (589.2) each finished on the first team as their marks ranked second and tied fifth best in the conference. Jacob Wisman (587.2) finished on the second team as Camryn Camp, Lauri Syrja, Jack Ogoreuc, and Oceanne Muller earned honorable mention status.
In air rifle, Lake (597.4) and Kocher (597.4) were joined on the first team by Ashlyn Blake (597.2). Muller (596) and Camp (595.8) finished on the second team as Syrja collected honorable mention honors.
Lake and Kocher rounded out their honors on the first team in combined score with 1190.6 and 1186.6 season averages, respectively. Blake (1181.6) finished on the second team and Camp, Muller, Syria and Wisman earned honorable mention status.
