
Mountaineers Set for GARC Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 4-ranked West Virginia University rifle team continues postseason action when it competes at the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) Championship on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28 and March 1. The competition is set to take place at Tronsrue Markmanship Center in West Point, New York.
Saturday starts with smallbore competition with two relays and finals taking place. Sunday's competition will feature air rifle action with two relays and finals taking place throughout the day. The top 8 competitors from both smallbore and air rifle relays will earn a spot in their respective finals.
The first smallbore relay will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, the second relay will follow at 10:45 a.m. The finals are set for 2 p.m. The first air rifle relay on Sunday will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the second relay will follow at 10:30 a.m. with finals set for 12:30 p.m.

The Mountaineers are in pursuit of their 18th GARC Championship title. WVU is looking for the program's fourth straight title after claiming the championship in each of the last three seasons. The Mountaineers have won 14 of the past 16 titles, including 10 straight from 2010-2019.
West Virginia looks to sweep the GARC titles after winning the regular season with a perfect 5-0 record. The Mountaineers have won both the GARC regular season and tournament title in the same year 13 times in program history and look to accomplish the feat for the third straight season.
