
Two All-Time Marks Highlight WVU at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team delivered another strong distance performance at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, highlighted by two all-time program marks in the 3,000 meters.
Competing in the invitational section of the 3,000 meters, Joy Naukot placed 10th overall with a time of 8:52.65. The performance moves Naukot to second all-time in WVU indoor history in the event.
Mercy Kinyanjui followed with a 15th-place finish in 9:03.93, a mark that ranks fifth all time in program history.
In the open section of the 3,000 meters, Anastasia Chepkorir recorded a time of 9:21.67 to finish 29th, while Alyssa Sauro crossed in 9:47.86.
Mary Delaney competed in the 1,000 meters, placing 13th overall with a time of 2:49.99. Kishay Rowe represented the Mountaineers in the 800 meters, finishing 31st in 2:07.56.
