MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming team competes against the Virginia Cavaliers at the University of Virginia Aquatic and Fitness Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The men's team (3-1, 1-0 Big 12) will face No. 8 Virginia in an exhibition only. The women's team (2-1, 0-1 Big 12) will take on No. 1 Virginia in a regular dual meet.
The Mountaineers have rolled through the early part of their schedule with impressive wins on both sides. Last time out, the men's team swept a tri-meet with Cincinnati and Delaware, defeating UC for the first time since 2023. The women's team has victories against Marshall and Delaware. Sophomore Jake Salcedo set the program record in the 1000-yard freestyle, breaking a record that stood since 2024 in the tri-meet.
