Tennis Opens Season With Doubleheader Against Morgan State and Youngstown State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team opens its 2026 spring season on Saturday with a doubleheader at Summit Tennis Academy against Morgan State and Youngstown State.
The Mountaineers will begin the day with a 10 a.m. match versus Morgan State before returning to the court for a 3 p.m. contest against Youngstown State.
Saturday's matches mark the season opener for WVU in head coach Miha Lisac's 13th season at the helm. The Mountaineers return three from last season in Julie Bousseau, Laura Villanueva Morillo and Lyla Byers.
WVU also features four newcomers who joined the program during the fall season, including transfers Daniella Shved and Audrey Moutama, along with freshmen Lucia Tognoni and Zuzana Kudlackova.

Next up, the Mountaineers will host Georgetown and Fairmont State on Jan. 25 at the Summit Tennis Academy.
