MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (2-0, 0-0 Big 12) wrapped up the first day of the Quest for the Crown Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Old Dominion on Friday evening.
Set scores were 22-25, 25-15, 25-23, and 25-18 in favor of the Mountaineers.
Redshirt junior opposite
Trinity Sheridan powered the offense with a match-high 16 kills on an efficient .367 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter
Nina Horning added 11 kills, while redshirt junior outside hitter
Cassidy Tanton recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs—the 14th of her career. Redshirt junior setter
Alexis Finnvold paced the offense with a match-high 32 assists.
Defensively, senior libero
LonDynn Betts anchored the back row with 17 digs, and junior middle blocker
Maddy McGath led all players with five blocks.
