MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia Cross Country team is set to open the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29 at the Lehigh Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The race will be held at the held at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course and is set to start at 6:15 p.m.
The Mountaineers enter the season ranked No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region preseason poll and No. 5 in the National Coaches' preseason poll, as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. WVU is coming off a historic 2024 campaign that saw the team place second at the NCAA Championships, the best finish in program history.
This meet will also serve as an early season opportunity to preview the course that will host the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Nov. 14.
Live results will be available at WVUsports.com. West Virginia will return to action at the RMU Colonial Invitational on Friday, Sept. 12.
