
Naukot Leads West Virginia at Penn Relays

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Freshman Joy Naukot of the West Virginia University track and field team paced the Mountaineers at the Penn Relays on Thursday night at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In her collegiate debut of the women's 5,000 meters, Naukot finished second with a time of 15:49.37. The time was good enough to her as No. 4 on West Virginia's outdoor all-time list.
Additionally in the 5,000 meters, sophomore Tecla Lokrale placed 57th overall, with a time of 17:31.31.
Freshman Naomi Kemboi appeared in the 1,500 meters for the first time in her collegiate career, marking a time of 4:30.72.
Next, West Virginia returns home on May 3 for the Stan Romanoksi Open in Morgantown. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET.
