MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team will send three distance athletes to compete at the Penn Relays on April 24 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

West Virginia is scheduled to race in the college women's 1,500-meter championship at approximately 6:25 p.m. ET, followed by the college women's 5,000-meter championship at 8 p.m.

Freshman Joy Naukot ranks No. 6 nationally in the 10,000 meters, as well as No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic region and Big 12 conference. Nationally, graduate student Sarah Tait ranks No. 6 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, No. 24 in the 5,000 meters and No. 25 in the 1,500 meters.  Additionally, freshman Naomi Kemboi checks in at No. 22 nationally in the 5,000 meters.

Last time out, the Mountaineers split the week at both the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mountaineer Twilight on April 16-19 in Azusa, California and Morgantown, West Virginia. Tait highlighted the week for WVU, as she posted two program top five times in the steeplechase and 1,500 meters in California. Additionally, redshirt junior Emily Bryce notched an all-time mark in the 5,000 meters at No. 3 all-time with a personal best time of 15:52.63.
