BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Senior Todd Duncan placed 11^th and junior Kaleb Wilson finished 13^th to lead the West Virginia University golf team in the 10^th Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
 
Duncan tied for 11^th place with rounds of 76-72-75=223 (+7), while Wilson tied for 13^th place with rounds of 77-74-73=224 (+8). Max Green tied for 33^rd place at +15 (79-73-79=231), Carson Kammann tied for 43^rd place at +17 (82-74-77=233) and Westy McCabe tied for 68^th place at +22 (74-81-83=238).
 
The Mountaineers finished in fourth place with rounds of 306-293-304=903 (+39). No. 4 Oklahoma State won the event by shooting Even par, followed by Kentucky (+24) and No. 28 Texas Tech (+34) in the 18-team field. WVU finished ahead of Marshall (+45), TCU (+46), Oral Roberts (+51), James Madison (+55), George Mason (+59), Western Kentucky (+61), Robert Morris (+64), Drexel (+68), Virginia Tech (+76), Villanova (+79), William & Mary (+80), Navy (+82), Tennessee Tech (+82) and Army West Point (+101).
 
Oklahoma State's Eric Lee won the individual title at -6, the only golfer under par in the field.
 
Competing as individuals for WVU, Pierce Grieve tied for 27^th place at +13 (81-72-76=229), Ryan Leach tied for 33^rd place at +15 (79-74-78=231), Nick Turowski tied for 43^rd place at +17 (72-81-80=233) and Harrison Thompson tied for 57^th place at +20 (74-81-81=236).
 
"Mother Nature really challenged us this week," coach Sean Covich said. "Absolutely brutal conditions out there the last 27 holes. It was really hard for us to get any momentum. Unfortunately, we didn't take advantage of playing at home. We need a really good showing next week at the Big 12 Championship."
 
The Big 12 Championship will begin next Tuesday at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
