Golf Heads to Big 12 Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team will compete in the Big 12 Golf Championship from Tuesday to Thursday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Big 12 Championship will be contested at Southern Hills Country Club on the 7,481-yard, par-71 course. The format will consist of a total of 72 holes across three days with 36 holes scheduled on Tuesday, followed by 18 holes each on Wednesday and Thursday. Pairings will begin off both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees in each of the four rounds.
West Virginia will be paired with Baylor, Cincinnati and UCF and will tee off on No. 10 at 9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday. Round two will begin continuously as round one ends.
Seniors Todd Duncan and Max Green, juniors Carson Kammann, Westy McCabe and Kaleb Wilson and freshman Ryan Leach (substitute) make up the WVU lineup. Duncan, Green and Wilson will be making their third appearances, while McCabe will make his second appearance. Kammann traveled as a substitute last season.
"Southern Hills is one of the best and most difficult courses in the country," coach Sean Covich said. "Our conference is lucky to crown our champion on a major championship venue. This week we will find out if we can stay patient, play smart and fight hard until the end. We have the talent to do great things, but can we be disciplined enough when it matters the most?"
