Cress Claims First Place in 60-Meter Hurdles on Friday Night

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt sophomore Olivia Cress of the West Virginia University track and field team finished in first place in the women's 60-meter hurdle finals on Friday night inside of the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Along with the win, Cress boasted a new personal best time of 8.84 seconds in the event.
In the 800-meter invite, sophomore Kishay Rowe set a season-high, after running for a time of 2:08.52, while claiming second place.
Freshman Carlene Temple had her collegiate debut in the 400 meters, after finishing in second place with a time of 57.17.
In the mile, sophomore Eva Rinker and redshirt freshman Mary Delaney claimed second and third place, respectively. Rinker earned a time of 4:55.53, while Delaney had her collegiate debut in the event, running for a time of 4:55.59.
Additionally, sophomores Izayah Everett and Lily Haught claimed third and fourth in the 200 meters with personal best times of 24.76 and 25.07, respectively.
Next, the Mountaineers begin the postseason on Feb. 28 – March 1 at the Big 12 Indoor Championships. Texas Tech will host this year's league championship, at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.
