MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team returned to the top spot in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the week three U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings.
After a strong showing at the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic over the weekend, the Mountaineers climbed back to No. 1 in the region reclaiming the position they held to open the season. WVU also moved up to No. 9 in the National Rankings after spending last week just outside the top ten.
The Mountaineers return to action on Saturday Oct. 11, when they travel back to Clinton, Pa. to compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
