
Mountaineers Set to Conclude Road Trip Against No. 24 Colorado

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team (13–5, 1–5 Big 12) will conclude its three-match road swing with a showdown against No. 24-ranked Colorado (15–3, 6–1 Big 12) on Saturday, October 18. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at the CU Events Center in Boulder, Colorado.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+, while live stats are available at WVUsports.com.
Saturday's contest marks the second all-time meeting between the Mountaineers and the Buffaloes. West Virginia claimed the previous matchup in four sets on October 23, 2024.
WVU enters the match ranked among the top five in six statistical categories within the Big 12 Conference. The Mountaineers are third in total blocks (170.0) and hitting percentage (.274), and fifth in aces per set (1.50), team assists (794), team kills (848), and team service aces (102).
Individually, junior outside blocker Nina Horning ranks fourth in the conference with 25 service aces. Junior middle blocker Maddy McGath stands ninth in total blocks (74.0) and tenth in blocks per set (1.09). Senior middle blocker Laila Ibrahim ranks 13th in total blocks (69.0) and ninth in blocks per set (1.15). Senior libero LonDynn Betts is fifth in total digs with 249.

Colorado enters Saturday's match with a 15–3 overall record and a 6–1 mark in Big 12 play, following a four-set victory over Utah on October 15. The Buffaloes are led by head coach Jesse Mahoney, now in his 10th season at the helm. Junior pin hitter Ana Burilovic, a 2024 All-Big 12 Second Team selection, was named to the Big 12 Volleyball Preseason Team and continues to be a key contributor for Colorado, leading the team in kills and service aces.
