
Mountaineers Return to Track for YSU Collegiate Inivtational and Nittany Lion Challenge

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team returns to action for the YSU Collegiate Invitational on Jan. 17 and the Nittany Lion Challenge on Jan. 18.
Friday's YSU Collegiate Invitational is set to be held at the Watson and Tressel Training Site, as the Mountaineers make their second and final trip of the season to Youngstown, Ohio.
West Virginia is slated to compete in the women's 60-meter dash, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, mile, 5,000 meters, 60 meters hurdles, high jump and long jump. Events are set to begin at noon ET and will run on a rolling schedule.
On Saturday, WVU will travel to University Park, Pennsylvania for the first time this season for the Nittany Lion Challenge. The meet will be held at the Multi-Sport Facility & Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track and scheduled to begin at 10:10 a.m. ET.
West Virginia is set to compete in the high jump only in University Park.
Last time out, the Mountaineers competed at the YSU Icebreaker and the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, respectively. Graduate student Ceili McCabe highlighted the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener by setting the program's record in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:45.67 in Boston, Massachusetts.
