
Green Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Hailey Green of the West Virginia University volleyball team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Green surpassed the 1,000 career kill mark on Friday afternoon against Virginia, tallying eight kills in the match. Green went on to add a season best of 14 kills with a .462 hitting percentage versus ETSU on Friday evening. The outside hitter concluded the weekend with 10 kills, on a season high .563 clips facing Liberty on Sept. 15. Additionally, Green added four total blocks versus the Flames.
The senior was named to the Liberty Tournament All-Tournament Team for her stellar performances. Green now tallies 1,029 career kills, with 53 kills on the season.
Green and the Mountaineers are back in action on Friday, facing Fairfield in Fairfield, Connecticut, at 5 p.m. ET. West Virginia will then travel to the Bronx, New York, to take on Binghamton on Sept. 21, at 2 p.m.
