
CSCAA Announces Scholar All-America Awards

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for the 2023-24 season, while four Mountaineers were honored as individual Scholar All-Americans.
Freshman Owen Recker (second team), sophomore Abigail Sullivan (first team), junior Sarah Krusinski (second team) and senior Sara Haggerty (second team) represented WVU. The men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters.
To qualify for this recognition, teams must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 during the semester.
To qualify for the first team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in the national championship. To qualify for the second team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
Sullivan qualified for the 2024 Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships after placing fifth in the platform event (465.45) at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. She became the first female WVU diver to qualify for the NCAA Championships in any event since 1984.
Recker, Krusinski and Haggerty competed at the 2024 Zone A Diving Championships from March 11-13, in Princeton, New Jersey.
